AG Single Molecule Chemistry auf Titelseite von JACS

Die Arbeitsgruppe "Single-Molecule Chemistry" im Bereich für Physikalische Chemie erstmals gezeigt wie Porphyrin Moleküle auf einer Oberfläche einzelne Goldatome unter sich einfangen können was zu einer sehr charakteristischen Erscheinung der Moleküle führt (Journal of the American Chemical Society 137, 1844 (2015)). Dadurch lässt sich die Molekül-Metall Bindung auf der Ebene einzelner Moleküle untersuchen und somit fundamentale Einblicke in grundlegende chemische Wechselwirkungen gewinnen. Diese Ergebnisse sind nicht nur von Bedeutung für ein Verständnis der Poprhyrin-Metall Wechselwirkung, sondern haben auch Konsequenzen für zukünftige Moleküluntersuchungen. Die besondere Bedeutung dieser Ergebnisse wurde dadurch unterstrichen, dass die Titelseite des Journals dieser Arbeit gewidmet wurde.
