The Institute of Chemistry at the University of Graz is divided into four research areas. These are:
- Analytical Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry
- Physical & Theoretical Chemistry
The Didactics of Chemistry Center at the University of Graz also plays a central role in the training and further development of chemistry teachers.
The Institute's research areas cover a broad spectrum of modern chemistry. Special attention is paid to sustainable chemistry, whereby innovative methods and technologies are researched in order to make chemical processes more efficient and environmentally friendly. The institute plays a key role in the international research landscape and contributes significantly to scientific development in chemistry.
