Acetylene Hydratase Model in Angewandte Chemie and highlighted in Nature Chemical Biology

Dienstag, 03.11.2015

Combination of bio-inspired coordination spheres with rare, bio-related reactivities and unique molecular structures has led to the discovery of a model system the tungsten-dependent enzyme Acetylene Hydratase.

As recently published by Lydia Peschel et al. the model is capable of activating the small molecule acetylene and also of its regulated release and re-activation by light, which mirrors the enzymes activity.
